Inspired by the peaks of Mont Blanc, a truly monumental wonder, the brand which bears the same name has created a collection that pays homage to the highest European peak. The Mont Blanc Mountain range is a captivating sight with its natural beauty and mesmerizing combination of stone, snow, and ice.
Using this mesmerizing appeal of the mountain’s glacier, Montblanc has created a capsule collection featuring bags and small accessories that displays a distinctive blue design. The design on the bags and accessories honours the spirit of the high mountain that once inspired the luxury maison’s own name. In keeping with nature and beauty, Montblanc decided to create this capsule using eco-sustainable materials, in a bid to display the importance they place in preserving the glaciers and mountains in the future.
“This capsule could be described as icy cool, sporty, and fearlessly bold with pieces created for a younger customer looking for adventure, all while being respectful of what this natural beauty represents. While it is certainly a very different look for Montblanc, the design is still firmly rooted in the brand’s DNA of the mountains and the spirit of exploration.” explains Marco Tomasetta, Montblanc Artistic Director.
The distinctive glacier design is printed on either nylon or leather and gives the impression of looking through layers of ice into deep blue depths of glaciers. The motif is the paired with a pressure closure, the same clasp used in the world of mountaineering. Taking further inspiration from climbing, bags feature outside pockets and closure, which assists in accessing personal items when on the move. Finishing off the designs, and in keeping with the Meisterstück line, zip closures feature a leather pull in the shape of the nib of a Meisterstück.
Some of the standout items in the collection includes large and medium backpacks crafted from environmentally friendly nylon yarn called ECONYL. The collection also features a Sling Bag and Chest Bag are designed to be worn as a crossbody piece. The collection is completed with a Mini Reporter, a Folio and a Zipped Pocket for holding cards. Each item features the ice design printed on leather that has been treated by an environmentally conscious process to save water.
The Meisterstück Selection Glacier will form part of a larger collection that will include writing instruments, stationary, watches and accessories.
The collection will be available from April 2022 in Montblanc boutiques worldwide.
