The Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 summit will forever be known as the beginning of a new era in the world of watchmaking. Not only was it the largest summit of its kind held in Geneva, but it was also the event that saw the launch of new watchmaking products which highlights the watch worlds extraordinary creativity and diversity.

Watches and Wonders Geneva 2022 allowed to the Swiss watchmaking industry to display its togetherness, and the event that brought all the major players under one roof produced a defiant and strong united voice for the industry. The 2022 salon also produced incredible results for the Maison’s exhibiting collections. In some instances, expectations were exceeded, when these Maison’s sold all their new pieces prior to the culmination of the event.

The numbers at these years first ever in person event since its rebranding, were equally impressive. The event was attended by 22,000 unique visitors, which included close to 1,000 journalists, who travelled from all over the world. The thirty-eight exhibiting Maison’s, including the nineteen newcomers all came together to produce an event that will be remembered for a long time. Over the course of the event there were 1,700 touch and feel sessions for the press, 20 Keynotes from the Maison’s exhibiting, 7,000 meetings with retailers, as well as numerous discussions around future initiative, sustainability, innovation, and added customer experience.

Inside the LAB, a space made up of fifteen digital and technological initiatives from those exhibiting, focused on major themes such as partnering with sustainable organizations, and using eco-friendly materials.

At the Time design exhibition, which was dedicated to the history of watch designs, 4,500 visitors ogled over one hundred timepieces. This collection will be on show until May 8, at the Pont De La Machine in Geneva.

The event is also said to have reached 350 million people, with more than 800,000 posts mentioning #watchesandwonders across all social media platforms and digital channels. The watchesandwonders.com platform drew 155,000 unique users and allowed thousands of digital accredited journalists to follow the event live from the salon.

The event closed on appositive note focusing on creativity, innovation and sharing in the industry. The cross-platform event also met the demands of the new age of interconnectedness, demonstrating the industries commitment to excellence. The event also proved that watchmaking, craftsmanship and NFT’s can coexist harmoniously.

Watches and Wonders Shanghai will be held from September 7th to 11th.
